Love's Embrace

Love is elusive

Why is this?

Why do we need to try so hard

Just to find true love?

Is this proof

That we live in hell

Inside of our heads?

Are we lost in our minds

Trapped in mazes

That we cannot find an end to?

We wander

We strive

Lost

But we do not need to be lost

We just need to learn

To let love in,

Her softness

Her touch

Her elusive embrace

It may not be easy,

We may have never felt

True love and warmth,

How can we find something

And recognize something

That we have never seen

Or felt before?

But we can

Because we are children

Of this Earth,

And though her storms

Can be intense and massive,

She also is loving in her embrace;

Her sun kisses gentle

On our cheeks of longing

We long for love,

But so many of us cannot

Recognize it,

Because what we thought was love

Is not what love

Actually is

Love is soft,

It is also strong.

In our adversity

We learn of her strength,

In our surrender

We learn of her sweet embrace

The tears we shed

Will water the land

She will hear our call

Our screams

Our torrents

Our grief,

But she will hold us

And guide us

To true love.

Our souls embraced

In nature’s kind arms

So go to her

Return to her

Find yourself

And free yourself

From the hell inside your mind

She will hear our calls

For freedom

For stillness and peace

For true love
