Blessings

It is Christmas Eve, and the sun is sparkling on a recent rain on the bending grass, mesh fence and droplets hanging from the leafless deciduous trees. I have all of the windows open to air out my small house, and am sipping on a glass of wine that is a bit to acidic for my taste. I am savoring the slowness and the stillness of the moment. I am alone with my cats and dogs and Steve is at work. It is nice to spend the day alone at home and I am savoring the sanctity of these precious moments.

The parents are off to India and my sister will be spending Christmas with her husband’s family in Anacortes. Steve will be home this early evening about dusk and we will be spending the evening together, and Christmas day, in our home with our sweet loving animals. I am grateful for a Christmas with few or nil events. It is nice to just get in touch with the small amount of light pouring through on these long and dark winter days.

I had a wonderful Solstice at Lopez’s annual all night ceremony that occurs on the longest night of the year. It was really nice to get in touch with the solar calendar element of this Holiday season. The planet circles around the sun, at an axis and here we are in the northern hemisphere, pretty much in hibernation, slowed down and settled in the quietness of our dark and chilly days and nights. I am grateful for this and am savoring every moment of this now winter season. I have very busy and active summers and am so glad to have a rest. I am savoring home and getting one with my sound routines and healing. Bless you all this holiday season and I wish you warmth and light on these dark winter days and nights.
