A Meditation

Sitting quietly by the water she has announced her presence to the waves of energy and the reverberations of the nature around her. She is one with that nature. Heaven sits waiting for her, a heartbeat away, and all she needs to do is pray. It is apparent that the adoption of Faith does not exclude her from trials, challenges and temptations in her life. She has had to accept that even she, though she strives towards perfection, is an incredibly flawed human being. Watching now the seagulls that soar around her above the lapping waves, she is reminded of flight. Perhaps it is possible, after one’s plane comes crashing to the ground, to take flight once again. She reminds herself of the learning that can come from trials. She hopes to rectify her situation, come out all the stronger, as well as gain some wisdom that will add color and character to her life. She has faith in this this very moment. There is a large amount of strength coming from her friend who recently lost her son. How very devastating. How heart breaking and utterly impossible; how can it be just for such suffering to exist? What kind of God created a world where such a travesty can occur? Is it possible that these challenges lead to rebirth, a phoenix rising. She has seen this with her own disability, but this lesson is lost on us simple human beings while immersed in our grief. As we take flight from our crisis, and rise like a phoenix, like a gull, others around us witness our transformation and all we have gained from our trials. She sees this very clearly in her friend. But she kicks and punishes herself severely for her misguided behavior. Again she reminds herself of the decomposition of the earth and the plants and how in the following season there is born new life, new growth. This is a hard lesson. She must learn that there is infinite design to her flaws, have Faith that she is good, that God is good. With a breath and a prayer she lets all she is holding onto in her self-crucifixion fade into the belief that there is purpose and beauty that will come from all that is dark.
