My Self, My Love, My Gift
What is this day that brings so many gifts?
I get to pray and celebrate.
I get to wake up to nature abundant.
My mind is like a flower that is coming a bloom.
My heart is like a wave,
Building on the water.
Emotions can be as such;
Building and cresting and folding.
I am resilient in ways that are new.
I am healing and growing.
To ceremony and prayer, I gravitate.
Peace settles upon the tendrils of my mind.
I have fellowship,
In ways that I cannot fully apprehend.
My life has changed for the better.
In stillness, I find this moment.
My heart embraces all that is happening to me,
Right now. And though the dreams and nightmares
Have been plentiful,
As I emerge I know healing.
I can find this serenity;
This serenity that wants me,
This serenity that craves my touch,
This serenity that calls my name,
This serenity that God is offering me freely.
On this day, normal and blessed,
I accept this peace in all its hues,
Like a painting that I can sit inside of,
And rest from all the uncomfortable vicissitudes
That beckoned me in my darkened state.
They are no longer there.
I have found home,
It has found me.
I will stay here and begin to know myself;
A miracle, a blessing,
This is who I truly am.
A child of God, a Grace,
A Gift.
