Hope is Here and Now

We gather together and we see many things. There is a reason to move forward in this world of opportunity, horror, peace, love, and fuzzy creatures. I am no expert, but there seems to be a reoccurring theme of hope. Hope is the only tool that we have to save our planet. I hope that we are able to.

I spend a lot of time just thinking about myself. We all do whether it is conscious of subconscious. There are also glimmers of the globe, the chaos, the magnitude of devastation, and the beauty that surrounds us whether it be the city scape or simply the sunset through the trees. I am learning to regain consciousness and pursue doing something for the planet.

I have spent three plus years studying Christ. I believe that this was good time spent. I am now expanding my awareness to thinking about what I can do on a personal level to extend hope to others. In my writing I have explored hope. Hope for me has been significant in healing and prospering with a major psychological illness. Hope can also be extended to caring about world issues and I intend to help in whatever way I can.

I love having a job. I love being accountable for myself and others and working on my own skills. There are many ways to get involved, through Quakers, through activities that are going on around me, that do not involve money and still fall under the category of work. I have Faith, the thing I have spent a few years studying, that I will make the right decisions about how I spend my time and efforts in order to influence the world around me and make change.

I spent this last Sunday morning working with the children’s program at our local Quaker gathering. It was eye opening and special once again to work with children. This reminds me that I have acquired many skills throughout my life. It made me happy and proud to contribute and offer my services. This was work. It did not involve a paycheck, and yet I have done something. I have served.

I hope to hope. I hope to instill hope. I hope to spread hope and learn more about its mechanisms. I hope that hope can save our world. I have hope. I have hope for myself, I have hope for my soul, I have hope for survival. If this is true and built in deep within me, why can’t it be true for all of us and our planet alike? I have hope for the animals, I have hope for the children, I have hope for the oceans and the streams. Let’s remember that there is hope and start now to make the change we wish to see in the world. Every stone cast matters and creates many ripples. We are here now and all we really have is the present. What an amazing present it is. In this moment I have hope.
